Mario Maurer for Penshoppe Summer 2012 (Video)

Penshoppe has released a new behind-the-scenes video of their latest international endorser Mario Maurer. The video features some of Penshoppe's Pre-Summer 2012 collection.

The 23-year-old Thai heartthrob has been paired with young Kapamilya actress Erich Gonzales in an upcoming local movie titled "Suddenly It's Magic." Maurer became popular in the Philippines when his 2010 film "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" was dubbed in Tagalog and was shown on ABS-CBN.

 

Get to know Mario Maurer

Mario Maurer was born in Bangkok, Thailand. He is of Chinese and German descent. He attended school at St. Dominic School in Bangkok and now is studying in Ramkhamhaeng University, majoring in Communication Arts. Maurer is a Roman Catholic. At the age of 16, Maurer became a model doing photo shoots, commercials and music videos. In 2007, he made his feature film debut in a leading role in The Love of Siam, written and directed by Chukiat Sakweerakul. The role "Tong" brought him many accolades and instant fame far beyond Thailand's borders. Commenting on his new-found fame, "I didn't want to do it, Acting wasn't on my list to do." He decided to do the movie because he trusted the director "Chukiat" and the movie would give him many opportunities. He'd be making money to help his family. He became famous in this film because of his gay role.

Maurer is the son of German father, Roland, and a Thai Chinese mother, Warunya. His father had a business exporting deodorant made from alum. Dagdag pa niya, malaking opportunity daw kung makagagawa siya ng pelikula sa bansa. “I never expected I’d get famous in Philippines nor in China or in Taiwan,” sabi niya. He is also opened to be paired with a Filipino actress.

Ang libangan daw niya ay pagkolekta ng mga vintage car models. “And I collect many books about cars,” dagdag pa niya. Sinabi pa niya na mayroon nga raw siyang maliit na model ng Philippine jeep at itinatago niya ito sa isang cabinet niya sa bahay. Kapag may libreng oras, ang pinagkakaabalahan daw niya, “I usually go skate-boarding or go to the gym and lift weights with my friends.”

Inilarawan ni Mario ang kanyang tipo na babae, “I like a sweet girl, kinda happy girl, funny girl. I like girls who dress up nice.” Sinabi pa sa report ng The Buzz kahapon na pinaplano ngayon ng Star Cinema na kunin si Mario para makagawa ng movie sa bansa. “If I have a
